PART-TIME PUBLIC WORKS EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

  • General Statement of Job: This classification performs semi-skilled work functions to operate motorized light- to heavy-weight equipment to maintain and repair town grounds and streets, and to provide solid waste collection services. THIS POSITION IS PART-TIME AND LIMITED TO 20 HOURS PER WEEK WITHOUT BENEFITS.
  • Minimum Training and Experience: Requires a High School Diploma and/or GED and 1 year of previous experience and/or training involving street maintenance, grounds maintenance, solid waste, and recycling; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Excellent driving history is required. A class B commercial driver’s license with air brake endorsement is preferred.

ABC SYSTEM GENERAL MANAGER
  • Compensation range: $50,336.00 - $60,000.00 Annually

  • General Statement of Job: An employee in this class serves as the chief executive officer of the Youngsville ABC System (the “System”) and is responsible for all aspects of the System. Under general administrative direction, and with the advice and consent / approval of the Board, the General Manager will perform professional and administrative work in planning, coordinating, and directing the lawful ordering, storage, and distribution of alcoholic beverages; site selection, lease/purchase negotiations, construction, and maintenance of ABC stores and facilities; financial activities; personnel matters; and the management of the System.
  • Minimum Training and Experience: A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field is required (Master’s Degree preferred). At least 10 years of retail management experience is required (at least 5 years of North Carolina ABC system management experience preferred).

POLICE CAPTAIN (SUPPORT SERVICES)
  • Compensation range: $50,336.00 - $75,504.00 Annually

  • General Statement of JobThe Youngsville Police Captain of Support Services performs complex administrative and supervisory law enforcement work in directing the investigative, special operations and administrative activities, or other law enforcement functions as directed by the Chief of Police. The incumbent participates in all administrative functions such as coordinating training, departmental planning and budgeting. Duties also include coaching subordinate supervisors; managing personnel functions to include recruiting, hiring, training, discipline, and performance evaluation; and managing the department’s evidence program.
  • Minimum Training and ExperienceThis position requires a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, or graduation from high school supplemented by special training in law enforcement techniques. At least three years of supervisory experience are required, with five or more years preferred. Must possess an Advanced Law Enforcement Certification; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

POLICE OFFICER

  • General Statement of Job: Youngsville Police Officers perform general law enforcement work in order to preserve public peace, protect lives, property and rights of the public, and enforce statutory law and municipal ordinances.
  • Minimum Training and ExperienceThis position requires a High School Diploma and/or GED and 1 year of experience in law enforcement; or any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) certification and valid NC Driver's License are also required.

RECREATION AIDE
  • Compensation range: $8.00 - $10.00 per hour

  • General Statement of Job: Under direct supervision, this classification assists Parks and Recreation Department management in providing general assistance and support to assigned recreation program and activities; sets-up and issues equipment for recreational activities; assists in providing on-site supervision of recreation program and activity participants; and performs a variety of general and routine administrative tasks in support of recreation programs. THIS POSITION IS PART-TIME, TEMPORARY, SEASONAL, AND WITHOUT BENEFITS.
  • Minimum Training and Experience: Must be at least 16 years of age at time of application. Education at a level that provides the ability to read and understand instructions. A minimum of 50 hours of volunteer or paid experience in the recreation field is desirable. Ability to operate a telephone and copying machine; ability to understand and respond to the public and staff requests for assistance both via telephone and in-person; ability sit, stand, stoop or bend, and see; and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

RECREATION SUPERVISOR
  • Compensation range: $12.00 per hour

  • General Statement of Job: Assists Parks and Recreation Department management in supervising and supporting assigned recreation program and activities; supervises recreation aides; sets-up and issues equipment for recreational activities; provides on-site supervision of recreation program and activity participants; and performs a variety of general and routine administrative tasks in support of recreation programs. THIS POSITION IS PART-TIME, TEMPORARY, SEASONAL, AND WITHOUT BENEFITS.
  • Minimum Training and Experience: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at time of application. The ideal candidate must be available to work approximately 20 hours per week primarily Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday nights. Must possess the maturity required to supervise recreation aides’ work. Microsoft Office proficiency is required.
