Water & Sewer Rates

Youngsville's water rates are $31.80 for the first 2000 gallons including a $10.00 per month administrative fee per customer. Each thousand gallons of usage above the first 2000 gallons is charged at the rate of $10.90 per thousand gallons (1.09 cents per gallon). Our sewer rates are $28.00 for the first 2000 gallons including a $10.00 per month administrative fee per customer. Each thousand gallons of sewer above ther first 2000 gallons is billed at the rate of $9.00 per thousand gallons (.9 cents per gallon). For customers who have both water and sewer, only one administrative fee of $10.00 per month applies and the combined rate is $49.80 for the first 2000 gallons. Usage above the first 2000 gallons is billed at the rate of $19.90 per thousand gallons (1.99 cents per gallon). You can access a convenient table of our rates here.

Water Restrictions

The Town of Youngsville has adopted water restrictions that are exactly the same as our provider, Franklin County Public Utilities.  This will include a year-round lawn irrigation schedule that has come about because of increasing demands on our water system for non-essential uses.

County rules went into effect on February 18, 2008 and enforcement started on March 1, 2008.  Due to timing with our Board Meeting these new rules became effective for the Town on March 13, 2008 and were enforced immediately.  On May 18, 2009, changes were made to the water restrictions allowing the washing of vehicles any day of the week instead of just weekends.  Also, 45 day Watering Permits may be obtained at Town Hall in order to establish new lawns or re-establish deteriorating lawns.  General over seeding and minor lawn repair would not fall under this category.  Please continue to conserve water as much as possible.  We do not know what the future will bring in terms of the weather.

The commercial use of power washers is permitted under these restrictions.

The first violation of these restrictions will result in a written warning, a second violation will result in a $200.00 fine, a third violation will result in a $500.00 fine, and a fourth violation will result in disconnection of the water service.

As required by Federal law, water quality reports are released by the Town of Youngsville by July 1 of each year and describes in detail the quality of the drinking water supplied by the Town of Youngsville municipal water system. It includes information about the source of your drinking water and an analysis of what's in it. Each report reveals details on the drinking water quality of the previous calendar year.
