Tax Structure
The Town of Youngsville provides services to its citizens in part with funding from an ad valorem property tax. This tax applies to citizens within the city limits and is in addition to Franklin County's property tax. The Town Board of Commissioners is responsible for setting the tax rate each year based on projected revenue and expenses. The table below shows the Town's property tax rates for fiscal year 2012 and over the previous nine years. We strive to keep our tax rate as low as possible and still provide needed services to our citizens. As an example, the property tax in 2012 for a homeowner within the city limits whose home is assessed at a tax value of $150,000 would be $885.00.
